Because no child should face cancer alone this Easter

Little boy with cancer in hospital

Every child deserves moments of hope and joy while receiving cancer treatment in hospital

Imagine being a child in hospital this Easter, surrounded by beeping machines instead of the joyful sounds of an Easter egg hunt. For hundreds of children undergoing cancer treatment, this is their reality – far from home, feeling unwell, and missing out on the simple joys of childhood.

At Cancer Support UK, we believe that no child should have to face cancer alone. That’s why we’re on a mission to ensure every child undergoing treatment receives a free Kids’ Cancer Kit – a small but powerful package filled with comfort, distraction, and a little bit of joy during a difficult time.

The power of a simple gift

For children like Archie, a Kids’ Kit is more than just a bag of items. It’s a lifeline of comfort in a world that feels scary and uncertain. Diagnosed with leukaemia at just four years old, Archie’s life changed overnight. Endless hospital visits, chemotherapy, and an uncertain future became his new reality.

Archie’s favourite item in his Kids’ Cancer Kit is this sensory Warmies® bunny, which provides much needed comfort

But in the midst of all that, a Kids’ Kit brought a moment of happiness. Inside was a soft, warmable bunny – now named Snuggles – which provides him with comfort when he’s in pain or feeling anxious.

Archie’s mum, Alex, shared: “He loves taking his kit to hospital. It makes him more comfortable and gives him things to do.” This is the impact your donation can have – a small gesture that creates priceless moments of relief and distraction.

Why we need your help

A Kids’ Kit costs around £65 to fill and deliver to a hospital bed. With 600 children receiving cancer treatment in UK hospitals at any given time, our goal is to ensure that every single child who needs one gets a Kids’ Kit – not just this Easter, but throughout the year.

Our Kids’ Cancer Kit contains items, which are practical, comforting and entertaining – helping children with cancer feel less alone while in hospital

But we can’t do it without you.

How you can make a difference

Every donation, big or small, makes a tangible difference:

  • £18 funds comforting, fun, and practical items in a Kids’ Kit
  • £30 helps fill a kit with essential items for a child in hospital
  • £65 ensures a complete Kids’ Kit is ready for a child in need

By donating today, you can bring light into a child’s hospital room, remind them they are not alone, and help create small moments of happiness in a tough journey.
