Audrey’s update
Audrey was 4½ years old when she was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia. She had been tired for a few months, and had developed a few bumps and swellings that got worse rather than better. The family GP referred her to the Whittington Hospital in north London for tests and that’s where they were told she had leukaemia. Shocked and devastated by the news, the family had little time to adjust before the long treatment journey began.
Audrey has been in and out of Great Ormond Street, battling numerous infections and even going into anaphylactic shock from one of the medicines. She’s also had meningitis and Covid.
Two years on, this brave girl is still undergoing chemotherapy, with all the expected side effects. Her warmable teddy bear, delivered thanks to supporters just like you, brings much-needed comfort when she’s feeling a bit down or tired.
Sayuri
Sayuri was so delighted to receive her warmable teddy. She loves cuddling her soft toys and never goes to hospital without them.
