We are delighted that our CEO, Gemma Holding, has received a prestigious Judges Recognition Award 2016 from ACEVO for ‘brave and inspirational leadership’. ACEVO (Association of Chief Executives of Voluntary Organisations) represents the UK’s largest network for charity and social enterprise leaders.
Announced at the AGM in December the ACEVO awards recognise the next generation of chief executives, champion inspirational and emerging leaders and celebrate their contributions to the sector. In Gemma’s first year at Cancer Support UK, she has delivered significant change within the organisation – concentrating on remodeling the charity’s services to better support people with cancer.
Gemma said,
“I am really honored to have received a Judges Recognition Award from ACEVO for my work at Cancer Support UK. However, without the help and support of the Board we would not have been able to effect so much change in the last year – so they have been instrumental in this too. I am hugely optimistic about the future of the charity and our ability to make a significant impact to the lives of people living with cancer.”
