Cancer Coach - for life after treatment
While there’s so much to celebrate when cancer treatment comes to an end, the weeks and months that follow can still be a struggle. Many cancer patients feel isolated, and find it hard to deal with what they have been through. This has been especially true for patients who’ve emerged from treatment in the past year, more cut off than ever before.
Our Cancer Coach support groups have been there for them. In the last year, we’ve run them over the telephone or Zoom, taking cancer patients through a series of weekly group sessions, over a six-week period. Our trained coaches have talked participants through the negative thought patterns that can linger after treatment ends, how to challenge them, as well as how to manage worries. Cancer patients have had the chance to talk to others in the group,
all of whom are recovering following the end of treatment. For cancer patients who taken part, it’s been a lifeline. They no longer feel alone.
