Jo was 43 in June 2022 when her life changed dramatically. Following a mammogram and further investigations, she was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. She’d planned to move from her home in Cornwall to a new life in Scotland, but that was soon on hold so that she could concentrate on her treatment and recovery.

A programme of chemotherapy soon followed, with an operation also scheduled. In the midst of it, the arrival of a Chemo Kit was a wonderful moment, making Jo realise that she wasn’t alone and that there were people out there who cared deeply.

The Kit included lots of handy items to help her through the chemo journey. She has since used nearly all of them, the sherbet lemon sweets a particular hit – helping with the nausea and dizziness Jo gets as a side-effect of chemotherapy.
