Shout provides a free and confidential text messaging support service for anyone who is struggling to cope. The main issues it supports with include: suicide, depression, anxiety, relationships, loneliness and self-harm. To access support, send a text message with the word ‘SHOUT’ to 85258, the service runs 24 hours a day.

Sane is a UK mental health charity, which offers a range of services to help improve the quality of life for anyone affected by mental illness, this includes support for families, friends and carers. The helpline is open from 4pm to 10pm every day of the year. It also provides a free text-based support service called Textcare, and an online supportive forum community, where anyone can share their experiences of mental health issues.

It offers a free and confidential text crisis messaging service, which is available 24 hours a day. The charity can assist with a wide range of issues including abuse, anxiety, bullying, depression, loneliness, self-harm and suicide.

Samaritans’ Step by Step service supports organisations working with young people, so that they can respond effectively following the suspected or attempted suicide of someone from within their community. It provides guidance on taking practical steps to reduce the risk of further deaths.

The Campaign Against Living Miserably exists to prevent suicide in the UK. It offers a free, confidential and anonymous helpline and web chat service from 5pm to midnight every day of the year.
