Thanks to you 1,200 Cuddles Bears are getting ready to go!

We know it’s a tough Christmas for many people, so we are overwhelmed by the support you have given children with cancer.

With your help we are well on our way to funding 1,200 Cuddles for Christmas teds to be sent to hospital beds – below you can see our volunteers hard at work writing messages on tags and packing the bears up ready to go out to hospitals this month. All thanks to you!

Our busy volunteer 'elves' are hard at work!
Hundreds of bears are ready to go - thanks to you.

Heidi, Reid, Imogen and Tiernan have sent you a very big THANK YOU!

Reid’s mum, Alison, has sent us an update which we’d like to share:

“Reid’s surgery a few weeks ago went well, despite having his left kidney removed they managed to save 95% of the right kidney! This was so much better than we expected.. we are so happy.. but he does have another 27 weeks of chemotherapy now.”

Reid is doing well after surgery.
Reid's Minion socks keep his toes toasty warm.

You are also helping us to send 500 Kids Kits out to children in hospital. The kits really will bring a smile to little faces this Christmas. One of the children to receive a kit is Heidi.

Heidi’s Story

Heidi was just three years old when she was diagnosed with B Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia in April 2022. Her mum told us she’s a very creative girl, who loves make-up, drawing and dressing up. She also adores dogs and luckily her grandparents have three, which keep her busy on the days she gets to visit.

Heidi is currently in the maintenance part of her treatment, which means weekly visits to the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow, where she has blood tests and receives chemotherapy.

“Cancer Support UK’s Kid’s Kit has helped greatly in keeping Heidi entertained. She loves to draw in the notebook from the kit and she is getting really good at doing tricks with the yo-yo. The cosy Minion socks and the cuddly Warmies bear have been a real treat for when she is having a hospital stay, as they help to keep her nice and cosy.”

And here’s Tiernan with Mr Cuddles!

He received a Cuddles for Christmas bear last year thanks to a donor just like you. Thanks to your support we’re sending out 1,200 teds to hospital beds this Christmas.

And finally little Imogen with her bunny, received in a Kids’ Kit

These are just some of the thousands of children and adults you’ve helped.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

We hope you have a very merry Christmas!
